The Department of Botany, TPS College, Patna, organized an educational field trip to Barabar Hills under the banner of the Biodiversity Club on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. Led by Dr. Vinay Bhushan Kumar, around 30 postgraduate students participated in the visit.
The students studied rare medicinal plants such as Gudmar, Shatavari, Ashwagandha, Goolar, and wild onion, documenting their ecological and medicinal importance. Dr. Kumar emphasized that Barabar Hills holds immense potential to be developed as an eco-tourism hub that would foster environmental education and biodiversity conservation. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Tapan Kumar Shandilya appreciated the initiative, highlighting its role in promoting environmental awareness among students.
